Naomi Milgrom is a business leader and entrepreneur, a longstanding figure in the Australian retail and fashion industries and a philanthropist, involved in a wide range of arts and science organisations.
Naomi is the owner, Executive Chair and CEO of the Sportsgirl/Sussan Group of Companies which includes Sportsgirl, Sussan and Suzanne Grae. Under her leadership, the Group has grown to become Australia’s largest privately held women’s fashion retailer.
Naomi is the Chair of The Katherine Hannay Visual Arts Commission for ANZ Trustees and sits on the Board of Melbourne University Business School. Previously Naomi was Chair of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art from 2005 – 2011 and is a former Trustee of both the National Gallery of Victoria and The Jewish Museum of Australia. Naomi served for 14 years as a board member of the Howard Florey Institute, and in 2009 made a gift for the creation of the Professor Frederick Mendelsohn Chair in Neuroscience.
Naomi has won multiple awards for commissioning exemplary design in commercial and retail space and has also played a public role in the promotion of the Australian retail and fashion industries, nationally and internationally. Under her leadership, the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival became the largest consumer and retail fashion event globally. Naomi was both the first woman and the first person in the retail industry to be invited to deliver the Batman Oration on Australia Day 2006.
Naomi has established the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, a charity established to initiate and support great public art, design and architecture projects and to develop new public and private partnerships in the Arts.
